Weekend Productivity

It was definitely a productive weekend at home! Friday evening after church and dinner with David and my parents I helped David finish packing up his apartment and we took a few small loads over to the house. I hadn't seen the house since the last time we walked through it, so it was so nice to be in it again! Saturday started bright and early with picking up the moving truck and helping move all of the furniture and big boxes over to the house. It really didn't take as long as I thought it would, and we even had a few different friends stop by to see it! Our friends K and R and their daughter stopped by and brought my shower present with them, which was so fun! *Thank you again SO much, K!! We love it!!*

We pretty much spent all day Saturday unpacking and getting everything situated. It was so fun to decide where we want stuff - I unpacked the kitchen by myself and I cannot WAIT to start cooking there! I love our kitchen!

Sunday after church and lunch with the family we went and bought our dining room table and chairs and made a Wal-Mart run for house stuff. We both decided we're so excited to work more on the yard and landscaping as soon as I move back - We did a couple small projects yesterday and it was so fun being outside together!

So although our weekend was full of this:

And this:

And this:

...Nothing wedding related was accomplished. I got two exams out of the way today, so I'll hopefully have some time this week to work on projects and blog about them! (And more pictures of the house will come as soon as I'm back in Wichita and able to decorate!)

How did you spend your weekend? Did anyone else take advantage of the awesome weather and get some house projects done?

Making a House a Home

Ever since David and I had our offer accepted on our house I've been spending so much time looking at furniture and home decor websites! We've got some friends who are in the process of moving into a house as well, so I've found myself looking at stuff for them too. Like kids beds for example. While we won't be needing one anytime soon, they're still so fun to look at! How cute is this one?

After finding that CSN has over 200 stores, I've spent even more time on their sites like allmodern.com and cookware.com. David and I are both pretty typical college students, so we need lots of stuff to fill our new home. We particularly need quite a few (quality) items and appliances for our new pretty kitchen:

I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to do a review of one of CSN's products. I can't wait to receive these:

I'd definitely recommend any of the CSN stores - They have quality products (many of which are on our registry!) for lower prices than you can find in stores, and they offer free shipping on many items!

Where do you do most of your shopping for furniture and home decor items?

Exciting Times

Yesterday was incredibly exciting! If you follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Facebook, you already know why. BUT in case you don't, I'll share...

David and I are officially home owners!!

He was at work when he found out and couldn't call so he texted me, "We own a home!!!!" He's precious.

Here's our cute little house:

It's perfect and I love it and I cannot WAIT to decorate and move in! And if any of you wanna come visit (after June when I actually live there) feel free! :) Like my mom mentioned, it'll definitely add more things to the to-do list, but I don't care. After June 12th, we'll be married and living together in this house whether or not I get everything on my list done, and THAT is what matters.

*Speaking of June 12th, today is the 4 month mark! Ahh! Where has the time gone?!*

I'm heading home this afternoon to celebrate Valentine's Day AND our exciting news. We're planning to go to our high school's homecoming basketball game tonight and then David's planning something for tomorrow - I'm not quite sure what, but I'm sure I'll have pictures to share with you next week! Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Valentine's Day post and enter my giveaway if you haven't already! It ends on Sunday! Have a great weekend! :)

Opposing Opinions

For the past week or so, David and I have been looking at house listings online. (Yay!) It's been so exciting picturing us in our first home and thinking about having a house to move into after the wedding instead of an apartment or duplex. While it's been fun, it's made one thing very clear: We have entirely different tastes and almost completely opposite opinions.

David definitely likes older houses with lots of brick, like these:

And I like a completely different style:

Although we do both like this style in a really cute older part of town:

It will definitely take some compromsing from both of us to make a decision on something this big. I think we're pretty similar when it comes to big, important things (goals, future plans, religious views, politics, whatever) but there are some areas where we couldn't be more different! And wedding (and life after wedding) planning is really bringing that out.

Have you experienced this? What decision made you realize how different your opinions/tastes are?
