  8. Oh MOB dress. . . well my mother is convinced MOB dresses are old-fashioned so she has been dragging her feet about it. Her cousin finally decided to take her to a local store. Hopefully this won't traumatize her. Eventually she does need to buy a dress . . .

  16. My mom is still in her 40s, and DB definitely didn't have anything appropriate for a young, hot MOTB. We live in different towns, but she went shopping at a bunch of different places (Nordstrom was one of them!) armed with my wonderful father and the ever-so-handy camera phone! It worked out fabulously!

  60. Great giveaway!

I gave my future mother in law a booklet from Alfred Angelo circling all the dress styles I liked and the colors that would match our theme. She is excited to start looking and shop for the dress elsewhere where she can find cheaper/similar styles. Nordstroms would be a great place for her to get a dress!

I would love to win this to give to my fiance though. It would be nice to apply this towards a khaki suit for him to wear on our wedding day as we're on a very tight budget.

    Thanks for the opportunity girlie!

  69. My mom's already bought her dress from Nordstrom (such a fun and easy experience!) and I'd love to use this gift card to have a special moment with my future mother-in-law - she's lost a significant amount of weight over the past year, and I think finding the right dress would be magical for her.

    ReplyDelete
  70. After shopping and shopping and shopping, I finally ordered a dress...not my first choice, but it had to do. I got rid of it as soon as the wedding was over. For the next wedding I plan on using this Nordstrom gift card!

  74. Our MOB was a tad difficult because she didn't want to look too matronly or too young (her words) and she wanted to coordinate with my future MIL who lives in England. All's well that ends well and looking back, it really didn't matter- she looked lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Looked for the MOB dress at Nordstrom Rack! Got a great deal, but you do have to shop around

  83. Oh hi! I'm a Mrs F too :)

For my mother-of-the-bride dress..I had it easy. I had a small wedding and I didn't care too much about alot of the small details that alot of other people think are important. So I turned my mom loose in Macy's and told her to pick something pretty :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. I don't really remember too much about mother of the bride dress shopping. I think she found the actual dress on her own. There was one dress that was marked by the maker wrong and it was at least 4 sizes smaller than marked. It was so funny watching her try to get it on and off!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I follow this, your other blog and I follow you on twitter (and am tweeting your giveaway now)! My mom found a dress in an ad in a magazine for a Lilly Pulitzer dress (I had a beach wedding) and decided that was it. She tracked it down and it was super super cute and perfect for the day!

  88. Well I haven't had this experience for myself yet, but I did go with my mom for my two sister's weddings. She was really young so traditional MOB dresses didn't really work. I think the first one we got at JCPenny, it was red which looked wonderful with the black BM dresses in pictures. The second was a maroon color. I'm not sure if my sister was upset that it wasn't in her color scheme, but my mother looked beautiful!
