Because I Know You Were All Dying to Know...

I've seen this survey on multiple blogs that I read, so I decided to fill it out because I love reading everyone's answers! (I'll admit, I have some stalkerish tendencies - I love finding out random things about people.. I'm not the only one am I?!) I decided to have David answer the questions that don't have a set answer as well, so we'll see how our answers compare!

1. What are your middle names? Mine is Elizabeth and his is Robert.

2. How long have you been together? Almost 6 years! Our anniversary is December 19th :)

3. How long did you know each other before you started dating? I'd say we knew each other for a few months or so; He says, "We knew each other 4 months."

4. Who asked who out? Umm, I guess he asked me? He did ask me to our freshman homecoming, so I guess that was our first official 'date'; He says, "I asked you out?"

5. How old are each of you? I'm 20 and he's 21, but we'll both be 21 by the wedding - I bet some of you didn't realize that! There are posts to come about being a young bride (Even younger than the young-ish bride, Mrs. Star!)

6. Did you go to the same school? We went to the same high school and dated all 4 years, but we go to different colleges now

7. Are you from the same home town? Yep!

8. Who is the smartest?I'm not sure - I'd say we're probably even, but he's accomplished more with his intelligence if that makes sense. He says, "You are the smarter of the two"

9. Who majored in what? I majored in Applied Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood (Formerly called Human Development and Family Life, which is more self-explanatory) and he majored in Accounting

10. Who is the most sensitive? I'd say I am because I cry A LOT. But he's definitely sensitive about certain things - He has such a big heart! He says, "You are more sensitive"

11. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? We went to NJ and NYC in March for spring break! I can't wait to travel more once we're married.

12. Who has the worst temper? Him, but I'm not too far off unfortunately. He says, "Me, although you're a close second" - Ha, I swear we answered these separately!

13. How many children do you want? Ha, we talk about this a lot. I want 3! He says, "2.5" Haha, he wants 2, but I'm slowly persuading him that 3 is better :)

14. Who does the cooking? We don't live together so it's equal, although neither of us does a whole lot of cooking. I think it's pointless to cook a meal for one person. When we're married I'm guessing I'll do more, but he's a good cook, so I'm sure he'll contribute.

15. Who is more social? He definitely is. He's super outgoing and could talk to anyone for hours. I don't think I'm too terribly shy, though. I'm definitely not one of those girls who is stuck to their boyfriend/fiance/husband's side when we go out. He says, "Ha" - I guess this one is pretty obvious

16. Who is the neat freak? Oh geez, neither of us. It's a little scary to think about when we're living together.. He says, "Neither"

17. Who is the most stubborn? We're both incredibly stubborn, but if I had to choose it'd be me probably. He says, "I think you are"

18. Who wakes up earlier? It really depends on the day, but it's pretty even. He says, "Hmm, I always do when we don't have to get up"

19. Where was your first date? Our first 'date' (the day of our anniversary) was a party at a friend's house where we held hands for the first time and everyone knew we were a couple, but our first official date was our freshman homecoming at our high school.

20. Who has the bigger family? They're probably about even, but I'm closer to more of my extended family than he is. He says, "You"

21. Do you get flowers often? Not really. Usually only for our anniversary or Valentine's Day, but I like it that way - It makes it a special occasion when I do get them.

22. How do you spend the holidays? Slightly touchy subject.. A post is coming about that.

23. Who is more jealous? Probably me, but I've gotten much better. He gets jealous occasionally too. He says, "You :)"


24. How long did it take to get serious? Not long. I knew early on that I wanted to be with him forever. He says, "Not very"

25. Who eats more? Him by far.

26. What do you do for a living? Currently I'm "just" a student (this is the first semester I haven't had a job and it's nice!) and David is a full-time student and an accountant.. Oh, and a referee.

27. Who does the laundry? Again, we don't live together so we do our own, but David absolutely hates laundry so I've agreed to do it once we're married if he does the dishes. :)

28. Who's better with the computer? I'd say we're pretty even. He says, "Probably equal"

29. Who drives when you are together? It used to always be David, but recently it's usually been me.

30. What is your song? We have lots that we like, but our song is True Companion by Marc Cohn.

Fit for a Princess: Part 2

Since my last post about flower girl attire, I've found a few more options. First, my mom happened to see that Wal-Mart had petticoats for Halloween - They even came in black and pink. How perfect would these have been:

Yes, you're reading that correctly.. They were only $5! I figured we'd probably need to layer two of them, but still, at $10 for each of my flower girls, that's a good deal! Unfortunately, the three Wal-Mart stores that my mom and I looked at (both here and in my hometown) were all sold out by the middle of last week.

The next day my mom was looking online and came across the petticoats/tutus on this website:

The same week I came across this website that also sells petticoats:

So now we've got more options, but still no decision. I really like the last two options, but both are $50, meaning we'd be at $100 before even buying shirts/tops to go with them. My mom used to sew all kinds of stuff, so I think she could totally handle petticoats - I just have to talk her into it. :)

What do you think? Do you like the look of tutus or petticoats more?

Fabulous Fauxtobooths

I absolutely love the idea of having a photobooth. Unfortunately, renting an actual photobooth like in the below pictures is not in our budget, as fun as it would be!

 

 

 

I LOVED Mrs. Cupcake's photobooth pictures (obviously!)

I'm definitely interested in having a fauxtobooth, but I've seen a couple cute ideas and can't decide which I like better! First, I fell in love with a bold damask fabric backdrop, similar to this one:

It would be so easy to set up, and wouldn't be too terribly expensive. I don't think we'd need more than 5 or 6 yards of fabric at the most.

Then, I happened to see this idea on multiple wedding blogs and fell in love with it! I told my mom about it and she loves it too! It would definitely require more work (and what will I do with it afterward??), but the adorable pictures might just be worth it:

Regardless of which option we chose, I think we'll just have a camera set up on a tripod and will have the 10-second timer setting on. I think, if we have a sign, that people will be be able/willing to press the shutter button and then pose for their picture. I guess that would be more difficult if we went with the second option, though. I think it would still work, but it would be a little harder to get in place behind the "wall," rather than just in front of the backdrop. Anyway, afterwards we'll upload all of the pictures (along with the ones that guests upload to the computer we'll have out) onto a photo sharing site. I'll have cards - likely mini moo cards; I knew I'd find some way to use them! - at each place setting with the link for our guests so that they can check out all of the pictures from the day.

What do you think? Stick with the fabric backdrop - the easier, less expensive option? Or go for the more expensive "picture wall" that would require more work, but will also allow for some awesome pictures?

Engagement Pictures, Part 2: Uncut

I have a wonderful FSIL. She already put up an album of the pictures from our second engagement shoot. The resolution is pretty low, so she's going to give me a CD of the high resolution files next weekend, but I don't want to wait that long to show them off! So, get ready for an overload of pictures because I just can't choose only a few favorites. :)

We got a picture in the football stadium!

David actually likes these better than the first set we took, so he wants me to redo the STDs with one of these pictures as the main picture. (I believe his exact quote was, "So I think we need to redo the Save the Dates. That won't take long, will it?" Uhh, not at all..) I need him to choose his favorite so I can start working on them. We need to be sending them out soon, which means you guys will get to see the final design in the near future! 

I'm so happy we got some pictures at the campanile since it's such a meaningful (not to mention beautiful!) place for us. It was totally worth all the work it took to coordinate the shoot - I LOVE so many of them! The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous and the weather was great. It's going to be difficult to choose favorites to frame for decor at the church and the reception!

My Ring's Photo Shoot

Yesterday I was bored waiting for David to finish reffing (I told you he refs a lot of soccer!) so I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous sunlight and get some better shots of my ring. I tried to follow Anne Ruthmann's tutorial from Weddingbee Pro, and here's what I ended up with:

 

 

 

 

 

I wish I would've had more props (I'm actually surprised I didn't as my car is a huge mess), but I'm still pretty happy with how they came out! It's amazing how much sunlight helps in getting clear shots!

Have you done a photo shoot with your ring? Did you follow Anne's (ha, we're on a first name basis - I wish!) tips? How did they turn out?

I hope you all had a wonderful, fun, and safe Halloween! I got to see David, only for about 13 hours, but it was great while it lasted! I think I've mentioned before that he refs a lot of soccer, so we decided to be referees for Halloween. Since he's a referee in real life, he thought he needed to add something to his costume - See if you can figure out what it was...

Haha, we had a great time. It was the first year we wore matching/coordinating costumes, and they were a huge hit. Now I need to catch up on all the school work I put off this weekend. I have some exciting posts to write, too, so hopefully I'm able to do that before I crash.

Did you dress up for Halloween? Did you and your fiance/husband/hunny wear matching/coordinating costumes? If so, what were they?

If I Had All the Money in the World...

...I'd buy my bridesmaids these dresses!

 

 

I bookmarked the twobirds bridesmaid website (source for all of the pictures) long before I was engaged. I thought convertible dresses were the coolest idea. I still do, but I also know it's $270 for the short version and $290 for the long version. You can wrap the dress-yes, it's all the same dress-in over 15 unique ways and it only comes in 2 sizes: Size A fits 0-14 and Size B fits 16-24. And it's maternity friendly!

I'd never ask my bridesmaids to spend nearly $300 on a dress for my wedding regardless of how many times they'd be able to wear the it, but I still think it's such a cool idea! If only I had the budget to buy one for each of them... And maybe one for myself, too! :)
