You Make My Dreams Come True: Bridal Party

I have to say I absolutely LOVE the pictures of our bridal party. We didn't take any of your standard standing at the front of the church in staggered lines pictures. Instead we took pictures that have personality, regardless of if they're 'dated' in a few years. I already have some of them prirnted and framed in our house!

These next few crack me up - Normally the 'dip' picture is dramatic and romantic, but David was sweating and it was dripping off his face onto me, so in the second one I'm trying to avoid it, ha!

Jumping pictures crack me up. I don't care if they're overdone or just a trend. I smile everytime I look at these! Please click to enlarge these - They're that good. (David's showing off his bling in the first one! Yes, he wore it for pictures.)

The linked arm walking pictures are another of my favorites, but ours didn't quite work out...

Why? Oh, because my veil was attacking people:

And I just love these last few candid chaos pictures right before we left for the church - It's fun to see what someone walking by would've seen!

Next up are lots of pictures of David and me (I know, sorry! Almost done!) and then we were finally headed to the church!

Is That Really Necessary?

About a year ago, a group of my girlfriends and I got together and had pictures taken by B, one of our friends from high school who was a year younger than us. I organized the shoot because I wanted MOH A (my best friend) to have pictures to take with her to basic training as she was joining the Air Force a couple months later. It was so much fun, and I loved how the pictures turned out:

(We took several that were obviously posed laughter, but I loved the genuine look of shock on my face in this one! Ha! I still remember the story one of the girls told to get that reaction)

When thinking about engagement pictures, I knew B was talented and that I especially loved her style and her post-processing talent, but I somehow kind of forgot about her. That is, until a couple days ago when I saw some engagement pictures she took of her roommate and her fiance in the snow! I fell in love and decided we need some e-pics in the snow - Just look at these!

 

 

 

 

 

I apologize for the overload of pictures, but I just couldn't choose favorites! And naturally, I looked for more inspiration from my favorite source and came across these beauties:

So, it's decided. I talked to Brynne, and we're both going to be back home for winter break. We're going to watch the forecast for snow and plan a shoot around it! Were two engagement shoots not enough? Is a third one really necessary? Nope. But we're only engaged once and I'll cherish the pictures forever! Also, we originally wanted one shoot in Lawrence (where I'm at school, on campus where we got engaged) and one in Wichita (our hometown and where the wedding will be) and Brynne's style is completely different from FSIL's which is fun! I'm so excited!

Have you found something you loved (but wasn't necessary) and decided to do/buy it anyway? Was it worth it?

Engagement Pictures, Part 2: Uncut

I have a wonderful FSIL. She already put up an album of the pictures from our second engagement shoot. The resolution is pretty low, so she's going to give me a CD of the high resolution files next weekend, but I don't want to wait that long to show them off! So, get ready for an overload of pictures because I just can't choose only a few favorites. :)

We got a picture in the football stadium!

David actually likes these better than the first set we took, so he wants me to redo the STDs with one of these pictures as the main picture. (I believe his exact quote was, "So I think we need to redo the Save the Dates. That won't take long, will it?" Uhh, not at all..) I need him to choose his favorite so I can start working on them. We need to be sending them out soon, which means you guys will get to see the final design in the near future! 

I'm so happy we got some pictures at the campanile since it's such a meaningful (not to mention beautiful!) place for us. It was totally worth all the work it took to coordinate the shoot - I LOVE so many of them! The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous and the weather was great. It's going to be difficult to choose favorites to frame for decor at the church and the reception!
