Because It Only Happens Once...

I don't know about you guys, but I find myself using the excuse 'I'm only getting married once!' all the time. They make some of the cutest stuff for brides-to-be! I know, I'm totally feeding into the whole wedding industry, but I don't care.

Before I was even engaged, I almost bought this cute little jacket from Victoria's Secret to wear while getting ready:

I decided to wait (mostly because I felt a little silly buying it without a ring on my finger) and then they stopped selling it. Luckily, there are several floating around the internet, and I found one on the Weddingbee classifieds (being sold by a *now* blog friend!). I bought it and it's hanging in my closet to wear the morning of the wedding!

Side note: I love the short sleeves on the one I bought, but I don't particularly love the wording. I probably would've bought the one below had I seen it:

Then, a couple days ago I was browsing the wedding aisle at Michaels (story of my life) and I noticed that the luggage tags I wanted so badly were on clearance for $3. They'll look soo cute on our luggage for the honeymoon!

And last, but certainly not least, look at what I found - for just $2.99 each! - during the semi-annual sale at Victoria's Secret:

They were way to cute to pass up! And the bride pair will likely be used for another 'something blue' aaand for a certain shoot coming up next month! :)

I'm sure there will be more silly little purchases in the next 4 months, one likely being cute tank tops (that I'll DIY of course!) for my ladies to wear out one of the nights of my bachelorette party! Pictures like this are too cute to pass up!

Have you fed into the 'wedding industry'? What were your purchases?

  1. Oh yes! :) I got some cute VS tanks through Craigslist right before I got engaged, magazines, decor, so much! :) I love it all though!

  3. I have totally fed into the wedding industry. I'm going to get a sweatshirt from Old Navy and have a local place embroider my name and wedding date on it. I've been dying for those luggage tags. Now I'm going to have to go see if they're on clearance at my Michaels.

  4. Just like Ashley said... I actually just purchased a short sleeve hoodie (that looks just like the VS one) and I received it in the mail two days ago. I paid $10 for the hoodie and I'm going to take it to get embroidered in the next couple weeks!

  7. Those undies are awesome! I love the flip flops that imprint "just married" in the sand too!

I don't think I've fed into the wedding industry with any purchases. But I am addicted to the television show Rich Bride, Poor Bride which showcases the wedding industry at it's best.

  8. Yeah, I'm a total sucker. I actually am very proud of a recent purchase, though. I, too, wanted that silky "Bride" robe from VS, but I couldn't justify the $50 price tag. As luck would have it, I found a silky white robe (sadly, w/o Bride written on it) at Marshall's for...$10!!! Wooo me! Glad you were able to pick up some stuff on sale!

  10. thanks so much for stopping by {with grace & lace}! so nice to "meet" you! I love your wedding blog. i was a SUCKER for all of it too, and it IS true you only get married once...no one can argue with you when you say that. keep saying it!

i'm cheap {ahem i mean} thrifty so i don't think i went real crazy but boy, did i WANT it all!

It's really fun to get things that are wedding oriented that you can keep or use for a long time after you get hitched. Like those precious luggage tags...you'll be mr. & mrs. forever...keep using them past the honeymoon for all your other adventures to come!

    xoxo-

  11. Love the 'Bride' Hoodie from VS. I have gone over and over in my head telling myself to DIY a Bride Hoodie to wear on the big day, but the one from VS may be too cute to pass up. Adorable! My friend wore the 'Sexy little Bride' jacket on her big day, and she has some incredibly cute pictures of her in it!

  12. Yes, I got a ton of "Bride" stuff and paid way too much for it. But hey, what else are we supposed to do??
