Inspiration Everywhere

Forgive me for my absence. I planned to write some posts Sunday evening and have them scheduled for this week, but I got sick Thursday night and have been miserable ever since. I was in bed all day yesterday, and had a big paper to write for today. So, I'm going to try to get some posts written tonight, but you'll have to bear with me. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, though! I know I did. Even though I was sick for a lot of the break, it was SO nice to be surrounded by family and spend a whole 5 days with David!

Throughout my planning process so far I've noticed that I now find wedding inspiration everywhere! I love just walking around Hobby Lobby or Michaels because I always end up coming up with a new project or idea. I've found so many things lately that I want to incorporate somehow, but haven't decided how yet, and I'm not letting myself buy them until I do. So, who better to turn to than you guys!

I found these gorgeous lanterns at Hobby Lobby, which I'm thinking we could hang over our head table:

I don't know if you can see in the first picture, but there's a glass candle holder and a pillar candle in the middle. I guess it might be a little scary to have a candle hanging above our heads, but I think they'd be so pretty!

I also found this bulletin type board that I absolutely love:

I think it'd be pretty easy to make if I was able to find a fun frame like that, but what would I use it for? A bigger version would be awesome for escort cards, but we're only using place cards for our family members so we aren't using escort cards (more on that soon) - Any other ideas?

Then I decided to stop by Dollar Tree and pick up some of their rose petals after reading this post, and I found these frames. I think they're so adorable and want to use them somehow, but I'm not sure what to put in them! I could always use engagement pictures, but I'm trying to think of something more creative. I just love the look of frames hanging from a ribbon.

Lastly, my mom and I were at Dillons picking up some stuff and happened to see these cakes on display in their bakery area. I had no idea they made such unique cakes. We've already decided on our cake, but I thought they might serve as inspiration to some of you! I would think they'd be pretty budget friendly too.

(You know I loved the tulle on the top of this one!)

Aren't those pretty?! Who knew you could get such an elaborate cake at a grocery store?

Do you seem to find wedding inspiration everywhere? What are your favorite places to look for inspiration?

  1. I've seen that bulletin board at Hobby Lobby before, it is so cute! If you need signage anywhere, that would be a great thing to stick it to!

  2. Hope you feel better! I also find wedding ideas everywhere these days - sometimes feels like I have way more ideas than I can actually implement :)

  3. Just about everything I look at can somehow be related to my wedding ideas or inspiration. :) I think when the wedding is over, I will suddenly see the world 'as it was' again.
