David, if you happen to be reading... Stop. :) Love you!
I'll be getting David one 'big' gift to give to him at some point on our wedding day (which I plan on blogging about and scheduling the post for while we're on our honeymoon! Woo!) but I really want to give him that gift myself. So I tried to think of a couple smaller things I could give his best man to give him before the ceremony. As of now, I've got a few ideas.
First, I bookmarked a project idea shortly after we got engaged on Style Me Pretty using socks. Doesn't sound so cute, but trust me, it is!
I kind of forgot about it until Mrs. Lightning blogged about the idea again last August. I fell in love all over again.. Her's turned out soo cute!
So I'll be doing this with a pair of fun, pink argyle socks like I blogged about here. I'll be sure to blog about it as soon as I finish the project.
Secondly, I happened to see a post last night about Boston Store which I'd never heard of, so of course I had to check it out. I had planned to get David cufflinks anyway, and hadn't really found any I loved, but now I NEED these.. They are perfect:
They're classy, they fit our color scheme, and most importantly, they represent something really important to me. I went ahead and showed them to David to make sure he liked them and would wear them again (I wanted them to be something he could wear on other occasions and think about our wedding day!) and he said he did. So I'll definitely be purchasing those.
Lastly, it would only be fitting to give him something KU related, so I'm wanting to get a gallery wrap print of one of the pictures I've taken of Allen Fieldhouse (where KU mens' basketball plays). I'm thinking I'll use this one:
Please click on that to enlarge it and tell me it's not awesome! It pained me to put the text on there, but I don't like having pictures stolen. :(
It will look awesome hanging in our loft with all of our other KU memorabilia (including my DIPLOMA!!). I think he'll love these small gifts, and hopefully he'll be even more surprised when I give him his big gift later!
What are you gifting your groom? Do you want to give it (or part of it) to him yourself or are you letting the best man take care of it?
PS: Can you believe it's the last day of March?! Where has the time gone?
