One of My Favorites

I know I've blogged about this project previously, but it's finally finished and it's one of my very favorites! I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to find a picture of one set of David's grandparents let alone find a wedding picture, but it all worked out and it turned out even better than I was envisioning.

I love the frames, and I love the fact that they're all from Dollar Tree even more! I wish I could get a better picture of them, but I never think to take a picture until it's dark outside and I don't have any natural light to work with. Since the actual pictures are a little hard to see, here they all are:

My parents

My maternal grandparents

My paternal grandparents - Isn't her dress gorgeous?!

David's parents

David's maternal grandparents

David's paternal grandparents - No one has seen a wedding picture as they were married in a civil ceremony in Sidney! I think this picture is so sweet, though. David's dad is the baby in the swing!

It was so fun getting to look through all of these pictures, and I'm so glad we'll be honoring the marriages in both of our families. I still need to make small signs to put in front of each frame explaining who each couple is. The pictures will be set up with the memorial candles I made for all of David's grandparents and my grandma.

I think they'll look great together and will be the perfect touch to our tribute to them.

Are you honoring the marriages in your family? If so, how?

  2. Oh my gosh, that dress your paternal grandmother is wearing is STUNNING. Does she still have it?

  3. I love this idea, I wish I could do something similar but my parents are divorced so having their wedding picture would be awkward and my fiance's parents don't really have any wedding pictures since they basically eloped. We will have pictures honoring our deceased relatives though.

  5. We're doing the same thing! I can't believe those frames are from Dollar Tree, what a steal! I have a question for you: how did you print the photographs? Just on your home computer, or did you do like Shutterfly or something? I have my pics scanned just trying to figure out how to print them...

  6. We're doing something similar. I'm not sure if we'll display them with frames or along the clothesline with the photos of us through the ages, but we're definitely going to include them somehow. Yours turned out great. Well done!

  7. I love this idea. I may just do something similar. My maternal grandfather passed away in Nov so he would be the only one gone, but still.

  9. This is really cute! Stumbled across your blog, good luck with planning and blessings for your marriage!

My husband and I were married last June. We too displayed pictures of each of our parents at their weddings and wanted to do grandparents, but my mom's parents are divorced and each remarried. Didn't want to deal with that! :)

We did two separate pics of each of our parents: a regular posed wedding picture on our guest book table (that was moved to reception site) and one of them cutting the cake was displayed on our cake table.

    Brings back good memories!
